More delay

Editor, The News:

About the University of Michigan of dioxin study: Dow Chemical Co. has been funding studies for decades all over the country because it pollutes communities and then wants to deny the toxicity of its chemicals and avoids responsibility.

Throwing money at communities and politicians is how Dow ensures communities tolerate more and more studies and more and more cleanup delays.

Even at my senior age you couldn't give me a house on the Tittabawassee River.

I am outraged that a multibillion dollar company is working so hard to avoid responsibility and getting away with it.

It's time for people to wake up. Dow has the time and money to drag this issue on forever. Our elected officials lack the backbone to enforce the law.

Do you think I would use Imerman Park or any park on the river? No, but I still pay taxes to support them. We are all paying taxes on polluted property. This isn't just an issue for homeowners on the river.

The problem is dioxin -- it's not the Department of Environmental Quality or those who want to protect our rivers and Great Lakes. This contamination is going to Lake Huron.

The pollution belongs to Dow. Dow needs to clean it up.
