Citizen opinion posted in response to Midland Daily News article Dow Asked to Do More

A point of clarification. Dow is required to do sampling as part of the Scope of Work. Lone Tree does not object to that sampling so long as it piggybacks onto efforts by DEQ. Sampling is a separate issue from Dow cleaning up know areas of excessive concentrations and human exposure. The state standards is 90ppt. There are areas is Imerman Park and Freeland Festival with levels exceeding 1200ppt sand 3,000ppt respectively. We object to Dow emphasizing further testing and obfuscating the obvious. It’s Dow’s dioxin, it exceeds state law, clean it up. That is the only responsible thing to do.
